More than 15 years ago, Emilie fell in love with salmon fishing on her home waters in northern Sweden. Today those runs, like so many others, are in decline. In this protected wilderness, she’s reminded of what a healthy salmon river can still be.
In the company of some iconic fly anglers, Emilie gets introduced to bomber fishing by the legendary Árni Baldursson, receives a lesson in small flies from icon Mauro Mazzo, and gets to hitch the one and only Yvon Chouinard’s favourite flymph – all while exploring their passion for Atlantic salmon and hopes for the future of the species.
We also hear from research authority Gustav Hellström, and scientist Oystein Aas, to better understand the threat facing these creatures – and possible paths to recovery.

Wild fish. Wild places. is a new Loop production blending lifestyle, culture, and poetic storytelling to celebrate the people, waters, and wild fish that inspire us – and the responsibility we share to protect them.
