The opportunity:

As the Pattern Maker/Technical Designer at Loop, you will leverage your understanding of patternmaking and product assembly to drive the development and delivery of a category-leading product line. Your know-how and drive in this space will help Loop as a brand accelerate product creation and time to market, while aligning with Loop’s commitment to innovation and performance.

Your role is central in translating Loop’s vision into physical product. You will collaborate closely with other members of the product team to support patterning capabilities and detailed sketches, ensuring a well-documented information pack is maintained for our manufacturing partners. You’ll ensure that each product enhances the user experience and reflects Loop’s high standards for quality and purpose.

In this role, you will help shape the future of Loop’s product offering by ensuring our soft goods and accessories not only perform in the world’s most demanding fly fishing environments but also reflect our values around conservation, craftsmanship, and innovation.

The Team:

You will be part of a small but growing team. You’ll collaborate with an internal designer, product developer, product line manager, production/sourcing assistant, and external partners to create world-class products. This team will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to bring ideas to commercial success.

Day-to-day work would include:

• Supporting and influencing the development process to achieve commercial viability of designs through collaboration with Design, Development and Production

• Supporting and contributing to the creation and evolution of construction standards in conjunction with the product team

• Partnering and collaborating with the product team to establish and document product construction standards and illustrated technical specifications for all products

• Executing the development of the product, including interpreting design, patterning, and coordinating prototype and sample creation, from concept through to commercialization

• Compiling all product materials/construction information and maintaining accurate pattern libraries and bill of materials (BOM)

• Maintaining computer pattern libraries by ensuring changes are clearly communicated to our manufacturing partners.

• Contributing to innovation in construction standards.

• Working in conjunction with the product team, so that the production description accurately reflects each product’s requirements and specifications

• Supporting and contributing to CLO3D modelling as require

Background and skills:

· You have 3+ years experience in product development and pattern making, with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and soft goods.

· You have a comprehensive understanding of product construction, production, and fit.

· You have an understanding of the product lifecycle process, from ideation to end-user.

· An understanding of patterning programs

· You can work from pattern blocks and/or from sketches

· You are detail-oriented and accuracy-oriented with strong organisational skills

· You have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills

· You can identify the root cause of issues and develop the best solutions with an unwavering commitment to get it right

· You are highly flexible and adaptable

· You are proficient in Microsoft Office

· You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
