Donna O'SULLIVAN

Donna O'Sullivan has been flyfishing for fifteen years for trout, steelhead, salmon on the Deshutes River in Oregon, the incredible rivers in Montana, California, Alaska, Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.

After learning the techniques of two hand casting from many great instructors from the Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club, Donna fished for atlantic salmon for the first time on the Ponoi River in Russia, and what an incredible and unforgettable fishing adventure that was! Donna attended the casting clinic by Trond Syrstad at the Orkla Flyfising school in Norway where she fell in love with the river, the town and the Norwegian salmon, and has been fishing the Orkla River every year .

In the last two years, new fishing experiences include bone fishing at Christmas Island, sea run trout at Rio Gallegos, and golden dorado on the Jurimento River in Argentina.

Donna is a member of the Golden West  Women Flyfishers and Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club in San Francisco, and actively promotes and teaches club members and the public who are interested in both single hand and two hand fly casting. She also competes in the American Casting Association's casting tournaments, and the spey casting competition at the Jimmy Green International Spey-O-Rama event presented by Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club.

Donna is the chairperson for Spey-O-Rama 2009, which will be held on April 17 to 19 and invites anyone interested to participate in the free event with exhibits of fly fishing equipment, casting competition and presentations of fly fishing destinations.

Tying the special fly, cast the perfect loop, the beauty and zen of the river, and the dance with that powerful fish at the end line...those are Donna's passions and life long pursuit!
